Terms for downloading, purchasing, installing, accessing, or using PDF-MD.
By using PDF-MD, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
PDF-MD is a native macOS application for converting difficult documents into Markdown. It may support PDF import, image import, presentation import, file preview, destination routing, OCR-assisted extraction, Markdown preview, LaTeX normalization, Markdown export, and audit output in supported modes.
Subject to purchase, activation, and compliance with these Terms, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use PDF-MD for lawful purposes.
Unless stated otherwise at checkout, the standard personal license is for one purchaser and up to two Macs owned or controlled by that purchaser.
Purchases may be handled through Lemon Squeezy or another authorized checkout provider. Final prices, taxes, currencies, payment methods, billing information, and receipts are shown at checkout.
Refunds are not automatic unless required by law or store rules. Refund requests may be considered within 14 days for duplicate purchases, clear technical incompatibility, or licensing or activation failures that cannot be resolved.
You are responsible for the files you import and the outputs you create. You must have the right to process, convert, copy, extract, export, store, or share any document you use with PDF-MD.
You retain ownership of your source documents and exported Markdown files.
Document extraction and OCR are imperfect. PDF-MD may misread, omit, reorder, duplicate, or distort scanned text, mathematical notation, tables, diagrams, footnotes, headers, multi-column layouts, low-resolution images, or unusual symbols.
Review exported Markdown before relying on it. Do not use PDF-MD output as the sole source for medical, legal, academic, financial, regulatory, safety-critical, or professional decisions.
Some workflows may require or benefit from external tools such as LibreOffice for presentation fallback conversion or MarkEdit for opening exported Markdown files. Third-party tools are governed by their own licenses and policies.
You must not use PDF-MD to violate law, infringe third-party rights, process files you are not authorized to use, bypass access controls, redistribute copyrighted material without permission, reverse engineer the app except where allowed by law, resell or sublicense the app, or bypass licensing or activation mechanisms.
PDF-MD is provided as is and as available to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that OCR will be accurate, Markdown output will be complete, LaTeX normalization will be correct, all files will be supported, or every bug will be fixed within a specific timeframe.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost data, corrupted files, inaccurate OCR output, incorrect Markdown output, academic or professional consequences, business interruption, or indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages.
Support and licensing questions can be sent through Email support or the support site.
