Privacy Policy

PDF-MD is designed as a local macOS document-processing app.

Summary

In ordinary use, selected documents are processed on your Mac, exported Markdown files are saved to destinations you choose, and PDF-MD does not operate cloud document storage for your files.

Documents processed in the app

The app may access files you explicitly select, import, preview, route, process, or export. This may include PDFs, images, slides, filenames, file paths, generated Markdown, OCR text, audit files, preview assets, temporary processing files, and diagnostics.

These files are intended to remain on your Mac unless you choose to move, upload, email, sync, or share them.

Purchase and licensing information

When you buy PDF-MD, the checkout provider may process name, email address, billing details, country, tax information, payment method details, order number, license key, refund status, or chargeback status.

We may receive limited purchase and license information needed to provide downloads, activation, support, refunds, and fraud prevention.

Website and support

Website hosting may create ordinary server logs. If you contact support, your email address, message, screenshots, logs, and any files you choose to send may be used to respond to the request and improve the product.

Do not send confidential, sensitive, medical, legal, financial, or copyrighted documents unless specifically requested and unless you are legally permitted to do so.

Local processing

PDF-MD uses macOS system capabilities for preview, OCR, file access, and rendering. Local workflows may create temporary files, rendered page assets, OCR-region assets, audit JSON, audit HTML, and Markdown outputs on your Mac.

Accounts and cloud storage

No PDF-MD cloud account is required for basic local document conversion. PDF-MD does not intentionally collect the content of your documents in ordinary local use.

Third-party services

Purchases, payment processing, taxes, receipts, license delivery, website hosting, email support, and optional third-party tools may be handled by external providers under their own privacy policies.

Retention and deletion

Files created by the app remain under your control on your Mac. You can delete exported Markdown, audit files, preview assets, and temporary project files from your own storage.

Support emails and purchase records may be retained as needed for support, accounting, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and product administration.
